SLAP Africa 2025: A Life-Changing Cinematography Initiative for African Youths

50,000 African Youths, One Purpose – Transforming Africa Through Film!

The SLAP Africa 2025 Edition has officially launched, marking another milestone in the journey to empower young African creatives through cinematography. Set to take place in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, on July 11th, 2025, this initiative will provide free, world-class film and photography training to ambitious youths seeking sustainable careers in the creative industry.

Since its inception in 2018, SLAP Africa has successfully trained over 230 individuals, equipping them with essential filmmaking skills at no cost. This year, the program is set to scale up its impact, with a vision to train 50,000 African youths by 2030.

💡 Why This Matters?
With youth unemployment at alarming levels, initiatives like SLAP Africa offer an alternative path—one where young Africans can turn their creativity into high-income careers. The cinematography and photography industry is booming, with top professionals earning as much as ₦1–2 million per project. However, access to quality training remains a barrier for many talented individuals.

🎬 What SLAP Africa 2025 Offers:
Hands-on training in cinematography, photography, editing, and storytelling.
Workshops with industry experts and seasoned professionals.
Real-world practical projects and mentorship opportunities.
A grand finale event where three winners will receive high-end camera kits to launch their careers.
